Lenovo has given new meaning to the concept of workstation with ThinkPad W700. The device is no less than a mean machine with 17 inch display and excellent graphics functionalities. Apart from that, Lenovo ThinkPad W700 features two innovative aspects – one is the digitizer for CAD/CAM or Photoshop applications and the other is the built in color calibrator that adjusts the display color very quickly to provide perfect image quality. The price of the device is quite high- at $3,802. It will cost even higher once mobile quad-core processor by Intel makes way into the market.

• The Design – ThinkPad devices are known for their matte black finish and Lenovo ThinkPad W700 also walks in the same route. This is one of the biggest ThinkPad notebooks with dimension of 16.1 x 12.2 x 1.6 inches. It weighs quite heavy too – 8.3 inches. ThinkPad W700 is definitely the largest ThinkPad notebook by Lenovo. The power brick is also quite large and heavy with measurement of 6.7 x 3.3 x 1.5 inches and weight of 1.8 pounds. Lenovo has used its large desk in the proper manner and hence the keys on the keyboard are placed in such a way that the user gets a comfortable and spacious experience. The device comes with a pointing stick for navigation. It also features touchpad, which is quite easy to use.
• Important Highlights – Lenovo ThinkPad W700 features a built in Wacom digitizer pad with a stylus pen. These applications are very sensitive and provide great control. The digitizer is another important highlight of the notebook that can be used to draw in Microsoft Paint or retouch an image in Photoshop. There is an integrated color-calibration device that provides reliable and trustworthy accuracy of color. There is Pantone’s huey Pro color-control software and a small sensor in the deck of the keyboard. Using these application, color-calibration device scans the screen, with closed lid. After the scan, mark great improvement in the colors.
